Troubleshooting

Unable to switch

on phone

Empty battery. Charge battery.

Check charging indication on display.

Battery contacts dirty. Clean contacts carefully.

Repeat switching on and off.

Battery deeply discharged. Continue to charge device. The charge icon appears

after max. 2 hours.

Battery defective. Replace battery. After several years’ average use a

gradual decline may be expected.

Contact problem. Check power supply and connection to telephone.

Charge icon

is flashing

Temperature exceeds

0 °C to + 45 °C range.

Ensure correct temperature, allow time, then re-

charge.

SIM error SIM contacts dirty. Clean SIM contacts with a dry cloth.

Damaged SIM card. Make visual check.

Return SIM card to your service provider.

SIM card not correctly orientated. Ensure SIM is correctly orientated.

Old SIM card. Only 3 volt SIM cards may be used. If you are using

a 5 volt SIM card, please contact your service pro-

vider.

PIN error 3 incorrect inputs. Enter super PIN (PUK) supplied with your SIM as in-

structed. If your super PIN or PIN are lost, contact

your service provider.

No connection to

network

Weak signal. Move to a higher location, or to a window or open

space.

Outside GSM network. Check service provider coverage map.

Check network information for the device.

SIM not valid. Contact your service provider.

New network not authorized. Try selecting manually, or try other network

Phone loses net-

work

Weak signal. Reconnection, or connection to another service pro-

vider is automatic; AutoNetwork (

p. 30).

Switching off and on may accelerate this.

Calls not possible Dialling error. Check the telephone number

(correct international and area code).

New SIM fitted. Check for new restrictions.

Charge limit reached. Contact your network provider.
